Responsible for preparation of weekly sales reports and monthly management accounts. These sales reports and monthly accounts are to be ready for presentation to the Managing Trustee during weekly and monthly meetings. They should be checked by the Restaurant Manager.
Carry out preparation of accurate month –end accounts with comparisons to forecasts and previous periods
Prepare profit and loss accounts and balance sheets for senior management and the Board of Trustees.
Statutory returns :
Responsible for preparation and submission of statutory returns I.e. vat, paye, nssf and nhif. These returns to be ready for submission before the respective deadlines set for each return.
Responsible for preparation of payroll on or before the last day of every month.
Ensure that money is credited to employees’ accounts by the end of each month.
Responsible for ensuring that all payments are verified before cheques/cash is given to the payees.
Responsible for checking and verifying reimbursement and subsequent posting of Petty Cash Book.
Responsible for posting all transactions in the General Ledger to facilitate preparation of monthly management accounts before monthly meetings with the Managing Trustee.
Bank reconciliations :
Responsible for preparing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
Responsible for escalating any errors, problems with reconciliations to the Restaurant Manager and Managing Trustee
Responsible for ensuring that creditor’s reconciliation is done every end of the month.
Responsible for escalating any issues or errors in creditors statements and invoices to the Restaurant Manager.
Annual accounts and audits:
Responsible for the preparation of the Café’s annual accounts together with relevant schedules, and present these to the Restaurant Manager and senior management.
Where required, sit in management meetings or Board meetings to answer pertinent qustions on the café’s financial status.
Assist the Restaurant Manager in presenting the café’s documentation and processes to auditors
Be the lead in stock taking at the beginning of every week and at the end of the week.
Oversee monthly stock taking
Be responsible for the preparation and filing of inventory lists.
as specified by the Restaurant Manager from time to time.
Must have good customer relation skills;
Must have strong numeracy skills and a keen eye for detail
